Dear Friends and Followers,
We usually tend to share HAPPY NEWS on our outlets, today however is different!
This morning we have been threatened by someone who intends to ruin our online reputation by posting unfavorable reviews and wrong accusations across the web.
We have decided to make this topic public, not only to maintain the reputation of The Dreamcatcher but also to protect the integrity of review platforms such as TripAdvisor or Yelp
HERE THE FULL SCOPE
Troy R had inquired about a small room with shared bathroom on airbnb, a site on which we do not accept direct bookings as our internal booking system is not connectable to theirs, hence availability is not always up to date. We declined his request for a one night stay in category “yogi” and informed him that all rooms that are bookable on airbnb are fully booked, however that if he needed accommodation for tonight we have one last available room: “The Elizabeth” a large room with two private terraces and private bathroom. This room category is only bookable on our website as it is about three times more a night than the rooms we list on airbnb. As a hotel with several room categories, ranging from $79 -$299 we reserve the right to not offer all of them on the same platform (a procedure that is not only legal but also very common). The reason why we do not offer certain rooms on airbnb are simple: a) we do not have the resources to manually manage availability and pricing for the amount of rooms we have; b) based on our experience our more luxurious and higher priced rooms do not sell on airbnb. We tried to explain this several times to Troy R. but he was clearly not having a good morning and was on a mission to destroy the reputation of a small business (that is still recovering financially from the effects of two hurricanes). We understand that everyone has the right to express their opinion and share their side of the story. However when a business like The Dreamcatcher has maintained an excellent reputation on all review platforms for over 5 years and then being called a scam and threatened to have its online reputation ruined, then this is not acceptable. The reviewer decided to post wrong accusations on various platforms and therefore we have decided to post a public statement on our social media platforms as well as on our website with screenshots of his messages for everyone to see what bully he is.The last screenshot we attach is from airbnb to whom he also reported us. Thank you Airbnb for your trust in us and your beautiful response!
FINALLY WE WANT TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO THANK ALL OUR GUESTS WHO STAYED WITH US IN THE PAST AND ENJOYED THEIR STAY SO MUCH, THEY DECIDED TO LEAVE A POSITIVE FEEDBACK.
TO ANYONE WHO STILL WOULD LOVE TO SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCE, WE CAN BE REVIEWED ON:
We promise this is a one-off and we will soon resume with more pleasant posts on The Dreamcatcher and our island of Puerto Rico.
WE LOVE YOU
Sylvia, Stephan and The Dream Team
